8-06-04 Hailstorm on the Farm

We had a horrendous thunder/lightening/rain/hail storm come through last night.
There was 1 1/2" in the rain gauge today, which is almost unheard of.  Ditches are everywhere.
 The hail was still in piles this morning, even after the sprinkler ran through twice during the night
to wash it into the ground!  So much for my beautiful flowers.  We are so grateful that they started here
instead of at Kintschi's like they usually do and that they harvested most the wheat here at home
because the storm passed a swath through right over the farm.  Kintschi's and Holznagel places are fine;
they just got rain.  Mike thinks we probably lost around a third of the barley here at the farm.

It was pretty crazy, it was hitting on the side of the garage door so hard and so fast, you could barely hear anything.
